How ONYT facilitates charitable donations using your earned cashback through our manual review process.

Overview

ONYT OÜ's Donations v1 feature allows users to redirect their earned cashback to charitable organizations through a manual facilitation process. This policy explains how donations work, eligibility requirements, and important limitations.

Important Note

ONYT acts as a facilitator for donations but is not a registered charity or fundraising organization. We help users direct their earned cashback to approved charitable organizations.

How Donations Work

The Manual Flow Process

  1. Earn Cashback: Accumulate confirmed cashback through eligible purchases
  2. Request Donation: Submit a donation request specifying the charity and amount
  3. Admin Review: Our team manually reviews the request for eligibility and compliance
  4. Approval Process: Approved requests are queued for processing
  5. Donation Made: We facilitate the donation to the specified charity
  6. Confirmation: You receive confirmation when the donation is completed

Status Transitions

  • Requested: Initial submission, pending review
  • Under Review: Being evaluated by admin team
  • Approved: Approved and queued for processing
  • Processing: Donation is being facilitated
  • Completed: Donation successfully made to charity
  • Rejected: Request declined (with reason provided)

Eligibility Requirements

Account Requirements

  • Verified Account: Your ONYT account must be in good standing
  • Confirmed Cashback: Only confirmed (not pending) cashback can be donated
  • Minimum Amounts: Minimum donation amounts may apply
  • Account History: Account must demonstrate legitimate cashback earning activity

Charity Requirements

  • Approved Charities: Donations can only be made to pre-approved charitable organizations
  • Charitable Status: Organizations must have valid charitable status in their jurisdiction
  • Verification: We verify charity legitimacy and donation processing capabilities
  • Geographic Restrictions: Some charities may only accept donations from certain regions

Processing & Timing

Review Timeline

  • Initial Review: Typically 3-7 business days
  • Additional Verification: May require additional time if verification is needed
  • Batch Processing: Approved donations are processed in periodic batches
  • Charity Processing: Additional time may be required by the receiving charity

Factors Affecting Processing Time

  • Donation Amount: Larger donations may require additional verification
  • Charity Type: International or less common charities may take longer to process
  • Compliance Checks: Additional due diligence for regulatory compliance
  • Operational Volume: Higher volumes during peak periods may extend processing times

Receipts & Tax Implications

Current Receipt Policy

Important Tax Information

ONYT does not currently provide tax-deductible receipts unless explicitly stated for specific charitable partners. The tax deductibility of donations depends on:

  • Your tax jurisdiction and residency
  • The charitable organization's tax status
  • How the donation is structured and processed
  • Whether you or ONYT is considered the donor for tax purposes

Future Receipt Services

We are working to establish formal receipt processes with select charitable partners. This may include tax-deductible donation options in the future, but such services are not guaranteed and will be clearly communicated when available.

Refunds/Reversals

When Reversals May Occur

  • Merchant Cashback Reversal: If the underlying cashback is reversed by a merchant
  • Fraudulent Activity: If the original purchase or account activity is determined to be fraudulent
  • Account Violations: If the account is found to violate our terms of service
  • Processing Errors: Technical or administrative errors in donation processing

Reversal Process

Important: Once a donation has been completed and sent to a charity, it may not be reversible. In cases where reversal is necessary, we will work with the charitable organization and may need to recover funds from future cashback earnings.

  • Donation processing times are not guaranteed
  • We reserve the right to decline any donation request
  • Charity availability may change without notice
  • Technical issues may delay or prevent processing

User Responsibility

  • Verify charity information independently if desired
  • Understand tax implications in your jurisdiction
  • Keep records of donation requests and confirmations
  • Report any issues promptly to our support team

Adding New Charities

Users may submit charitable organizations for consideration. All submissions undergo thorough review:

  • Verification Process: We verify charitable status and legitimacy
  • Operational Compatibility: Charity must be able to receive and process donations
  • Geographic Coverage: Must serve regions where our users are located
  • Approval Timeline: Review process typically takes 2-4 weeks

Approval or rejection of charity submissions is at our sole discretion. We prioritize established, transparent charitable organizations with clear missions.

Direct Donations (Stripe Connect)

In addition to the cashback donation flow described above, ONYT OÜ offers a Direct Donations feature that allows users to make real-money card or Bizum payments directly to causes registered on the platform. These payments are processed by Stripe on behalf of the cause's connected Stripe account.

Platform Fee

A 5% platform fee is deducted from each direct donation to cover payment processing and platform costs. For example:

  • A €20 donation → €19.00 reaches the cause, €1.00 platform fee
  • A €50 donation → €47.50 reaches the cause, €2.50 platform fee
  • A €100 donation → €95.00 reaches the cause, €5.00 platform fee

The fee breakdown is shown clearly before you confirm any payment.

Minimum & Maximum Amounts

  • Card payments: minimum €10 per donation
  • Bizum payments: minimum €5 per donation
  • Maximum: €10,000 per donation

Refunds

Refund requests for direct donations must be submitted within 14 days of payment and are subject to review. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method. The platform fee may not be refundable in all cases. To request a refund, contact contact@onyt.net.

Tax Receipts

Causes registered as NGOs may be eligible to issue tax receipts for direct donations. Receipt eligibility is determined at the time of donation and displayed before payment.ONYT OÜ does not guarantee tax deductibility; consult a tax adviser regarding your specific jurisdiction.

AML Compliance

Donations of €1,000 or more per transaction, or cumulative donations exceeding €5,000 in a calendar year, may be subject to additional verification under our Anti-Money Laundering (AML) obligations. We may request supporting documentation before processing.
